IT ALL STARTED IN ROCHESTER, NY.
In 1989, Bonnie Lavorato, along with her family, decided to hand bottle her BBQ sauce recipe from her licensed home kitchen. Her first brand name was Bonnie's Gourmet, Chick -n- Ribs in three flavors.
PRIVATE LABEL FOODS BECAME A SERIOUS NAME IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY.
In 1991, the business moved from her home kitchen to a 3,200 square foot facility in Rochester, NY, and there, set up the first production line. The business name, Private Label Foods, was gaining popularity and soon restaurants and grocery store chains were calling non stop.
RESTAURANTS SAW THE VALUE IN OUR CONSISTENT QUALITY PRODUCTS AND THE DEMAND GREW.
In 1998, the company moved to the former Ragu facility and set up two high-speed production lines. The city of Rochester worked diligently with us during our expansion, which gave us the ability to give back to o community and create good paying jobs.
THE NEED FOR MORE GREAT TASTING PRODUCTS AND THE DEMAND FROM RETAILERS WANTING THEIR OWN BRAND NAMES HAD GROWN.
In 2006, Private Label Foods had another major expansion gaining 65,000 square feet for a total of 125,000. Another high-speed production line was added in order to produce salad dressings. The demand for food service grew and so did our capabilities. From a home kitchen to one of the most famous buildings for sauce making is our past--present--and future.
